ioby stands for “in our backyards” and the belief that environmental knowledge, innovation, action, and service begin and thrive in our backyards. ioby is an online micro philanthropic initiative that connects groups who are working on great environmental projects to people who care about their neighborhoods. Community members can post projects on ioby to raise funds or recruit volunteers.

New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation
Find out information about concerts and arts, fairs and festivals, sports and athletics for people of all ages and abilities. This office’s grants programs provide assistance for boating and snowmobiling enforcement, and aid to zoos, botanical gardens, and aquariums. They also administer funds for federal historic preservation and park programs and the 1986 New York State Environmental Quality Bond Act, the Environmental Protection Fund, and the 1996 Clean Water/Clean Air Bond Act.
Nightwatch is a neighborhood watch team dedicated to bettering its community. Nightwatch expanded to the internet to encourage people to start neighborhood watch teams, in hopes of getting more people active in their community. They run crowd control and education programs as well as neighborhood watch teams.
One Brick provides support to local nonprofit and community organizations by creating a unique, social, and flexible volunteer environment for those interested in making a concrete difference in the community.

The Urban Parks Institute was established in 1996 to help improve the quality of urban parks, especially in underserved neighborhoods, by educating public, private, and nonprofit sector leaders about best practices in urban park revitalization.
